About the event
The Vijayadasami Student Dance Performance is an annual cultural celebration presented by the students of Kargi Kala Kendra dance school in honor of Goddess Vijayalakshmi. It is one of the most auspicious days in the Indian tradition for art forms.
Vijayadasami, also known as Dussehra, symbolizes the triumph of knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and the continuation of learning and artistic pursuits. Traditionally, this day is dedicated to honoring teachers, mentors, and the sacred relationship between the Guru and Shishya (teacher and student), a cornerstone of Indian classical arts education.
This event embodies the spirit of the Guru-Shishya Parampara by providing students of all ages and skill levels an opportunity to present what they have learned throughout the year.
